Liya Lynnyk

   My name is Liya Lynnyk. As most of artists i painted since an early childhood. In 2013 i graduated Kiev National Academy of Arts and Architecture as architect. And in this year i decided that have enough experience to embody my ideas in art.

   Why did I want to practice an art? Because it was an ability to tell what I need to tell in visual images. And still need to do this. Also i want to inspire people with my artworks, to awaken their imagination, to make them recall all this amazing ideas about life and world we all have in childhood. This is the main purpose of my art.

   Nowadays I’m working on the series of works “Microcities”. This is a series of graphic and oil painting works. These were inspired by the ideas of absurdism. The idea of this series is the embodiment of emotions and feelings in physical form. I use different female characters and varies cities in their hair. Why I use set “city” in the hair. Because I based on ancient legend which says that our hair keeps all our memories and secrets. Hair is like a hard disk which keeps all knowledges, memories and emotions.  “City” is the embodiment of all this.

   Also the using of different female characters is the main feature of my artworks.  I research female’s nature to understand myself and to embody then my ideas. My artworks can be positive, filled with hope and happiness and negative, filled with depression and hopeless. I claim that our art is the reflection of our life and ideas about it which is filled with negative and positive moments.
